Rebecca's experience and insight are highly respected in the Triangle, and she is frequently recruited to lecture on transactional residential real estate, educating other attorneys and paralegals. She has served as an instructor at various community colleges.

Rebecca has also been a Certified Mediator and held a Professional Lecturer Certificate with the North Carolina Justice Department. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Rebecca worked as one of the first female tax collectors for the state of North Carolina before returning to school to obtain her juris doctorate from Campbell University. During law school, Rebecca served as the business manager for the Campbell Law Observer and was an officer of Women in Law which recognized her work representing the school in the District Legal Client Counseling Competition. She was also a member of the '82-83' Wagoner Moot Court team.

In the summer of 1986, Rebecca L. Stevens opened a law office in Fuquay-Varina. After eight successful years, she moved the practice to Cary in 1994. Over the years, she has developed a finely tuned process with excellent support staff to handle each individual client need.

Rebecca, a native of North Carolina, currently resides in Raleigh, NC. She continues to give back to the law community as an active alumnus of the Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law where she volunteers as judge for the Campbell University Moot Court & Client Counseling Competitions. She also serves on panel discussions for future and current students and engages in a variety of other activities for the law school. Rebecca also oversees the student internship program at Stevens Law Firm.

She currently serves on the board of directors for Triangle Homeworks and is a member of the Cary Chamber of Commerce. She has also served as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Cary and on the board of the North Carolina Horse Council. Rebecca is a strong advocate for the Volunteer Lawyers Program for Legal Aid of North Carolina and was recognized as a featured volunteer in June 2009.

Kelsey joins our team in 2015 as an associate after completing a professional apprenticeship with Stevens Law Firm. Prior to working with our firm, she was sole owner of Hathaway Law, which she started in 2011 in Sanford, North Carolina. With a strong devotion to indigent defense services, Kelsey successfully built a practice from the ground up, with the focus on criminal defense and devoted more than two thirds of her practice to court-appointed clients.

Prior to opening Hathaway Law, P.C., Kelsey was an associate of Perry & Waters, LLC with offices in Henderson and Oxford, where she worked primarily with indigent clients and maintained an active trial calendar. Within her first year of practice, Kelsey had successfully tried a trial by jury, in Vance County Superior Court, a criminal appeal which won her respect among the community and her peers. Kelsey grew up in Raleigh, NC.

Sue Harrington, relocation coordinator and office manager

Sue has been with the law office since 1986 and is an integral member of our team and is the office's relocation specialist. She handles all bookkeeping issues, trust account reconciliation and verifications. She has a wealth of knowledge and can generally help assist with anything in the office. If you have a questions or need, Sue is an extremely experienced contact and can walk you through the process and personally make sure all matters are properly taken care of by the most appropriate person. Sue is the primary contact for all relocation closings at Stevens Law Firm. She is a native of Raleigh, where she also attended school and received her bachelor of science from North Carolina State University.
